5.2.1 Vendor will be required to verify that they are recycling the spent cartridges to the greatest extent possible and not disposing of the spent cartridges and ordering new cartridges for resale. 5.2.2 Vendor will be required to include the following steps in the remanufacturing process and may be asked to verify that this process takes place: • Pre-test performed to determine if any problems exist with the drum or other components. Cartridges that are not able to be remanufactured must be disassembled and the components are to be recycled to the greatest extent possible. • Complete disassembly of cartridges, no drilling, cutting, or burning will be allowed. • Thorough cleaning of dust bin, photocopy drum, magnetic roller and toner feeder. • Replace worn or defective components. Worn drum must be replaced with “long life” drum. • Replenish toner feeder with toner. • Post-test cartridge. • Replace computer chip or reset usage indicator when applicable.
