The city of Joplin, Missouri is issuing this request for proposal (RFP) to provide for the preparation, repair , and painting of the Joplin Historical & Mineral Museum’s west facing façade. The areas to be painted include all columns, soffits, fascia, lintels, and downspouts on the western face of the museum, and the southwestern face of the 2nd floor exterior. The project is estimated at 2,690 square feet. Contractors are responsible for obtaining their own measurements. The awarding bid will be based on the total grand price. PAINT/PREP MUSEUM WEST FAÇADE Surfaces to be cleaned/prepped prior to painting Loose or peeling existing coating to be removed and exposed substrates will be sealed with appropriate primer Apply 2- coats of premium quality paint Brick and non-painted surfaces to be protected from drips or overspray All holes and cracks between adjoining painted surfaces will be filled with caulking prior to painting Any rotted boards to be replaced Repair/Replace any loose or broken nails/screws All work is to be completed in a workman-like manner 2- year warranty on labor and materials if paint failure appears Contractor is responsible for the disposal of all debris in accordance with Local, State, and Federal requirements Color to be specified
