Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Pacolet and the Glendale Community are seeking qualified firms to conduct a feasibility study for outdoor oriented tourism development along Lawson’s Fork Creek and the Pacolet River blueways that connect the two communities. The project will focus on the following: 1. Reuse of the National Register Listed Pacolet Cloth Room in Pacolet as a conference facility, outdoor outfitter, or other relevant use. This would be the “ending point” of a recreation system for paddling, biking, hiking, and other outdoor recreation. 2. Expansion of the Glendale Outdoor Leadership School as a “starting point” for these activities. Capitalizing on the excitement about and interest in Wofford College’s Environmental Studies Field Center already established at the shoals at Glendale. 3. The feasibility of accommodations in both communities. 4. The spin off effects and potential for other development/redevelopment activity as a consequence of these projects.
