This Request for Quote (RFQ) is for the procurement of sixty (60) BRASCH Radome Heaters (P/N: BH-240-U2100DA0T) for the National Reconditioning Center (NRC) located in Grandview, MO. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for SIXTY (60) BRASCH Radome Heaters, that are in accordance with the required specifications for the National Logistics Support Center in Grandview, MO. The Governments intends to make an award to the responsive responsible quoter providing the Best Value to the government in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Brand Name Justification. QUOTERS MUST BE AN AUTHORIZED RESELLER OF BRASCH MANUFACTURING. The firm fixed price award will be issued as a 100% Small Business set-aside.
BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION:
This particular brand name is essential to the requirement and market research indicates similar products do not meet or cannot be modified to meet agency needs. The NEXRAD program originally selected Brasch Manufacturing Part number BTU-10-2083TK-1AS-1 as the electric heater for the WSR-88D weather radar. The manufacturer has discontinued this model and has replaced it with model number BH-240-U2100D-A0T. This new model was tested by Radar Operations Center (ROC) Engineering and deemed a suitable replacement for form, fit, and function. The heater must mount to the antenna pedestal utilizing existing mounting lugs on the pedestal. The heater must use existing wiring with no additional modifications or alterations, and must not interfere with the operation of the antenna. Utilizing the swivel bracket available from the heater manufacturer, the replacement heater is a compatible fit with the WSR-88D antenna pedestal.
DOC, Eastern Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM).
