Specifications include, but are not limited to: This document constitutes a request for competitive, sealed proposals for the provision of mowing, raking and baling hay services for the City of Columbia, Missouri; The contractor shall understand and agree that bales shall be large round bales or large square bales. Prior to providing the services, the contractor shall notify the City staff before arriving at the City properties. Weather permitting, the contractor shall provide the services for a minimum of once per season, unless otherwise agreed upon between the contractor and the City. Upon completion of the work and receipt of the number of bales, the bales shall become the property of the contractor. Bales shall be moved off City property within a month of cutting, unless the City agrees to extend. Contractor shall provide all necessary equipment, transportation, supervision, labor, licenses, services and expertise for the grinding services as requested by the City. Contractor shall maintain equipment in excellent working order and have it available for work at any time. Failure to maintain the equipment in a dependable condition shall be considered non-performance and cause to terminate the contract. The contractor shall conduct cleaning during progress of work and at the completion of the work. It is the contractor’s responsibility to remove construction debris from the site and to obtain waste receptacles as required. Cleaning and disposal operations shall comply with codes, ordinances, regulations and antipollution laws. Contractor shall maintain all erosion control devices during construction. Contractor shall remove all devices once site is stabilized. In the event that damage(s) to trees, shrubs, turf or vegetation occurs because of the contractor’s unauthorized operations, the contractor shall pay or allow to the City compensation for the said damage(s). The City Representative using the Guide for Plant Appraisal 9th edition International Society of Arboriculture shall determine compensation.
