The intent of these specifications is to describe the minimum requirements for a two-axle commercial vehicle modified chassis equipped with a commercial wheelchair ramp that will be modified, restructured, and assembled by using best quality materials, components, and workmanship in accordance with sound engineering principles and manufacturing practices to provide safe and reliable transportation for ambulatory and non-ambulatory adult passengers. The vehicle and identified floor plans, must be capable of providing public transportation for a minimum of three (3) ambulatory passengers while accommodating two (2) passengers seated in mobility aids, in addition to the driver. Maximum ambulatory capacity (without a passenger in a mobility aid) is six (6) passengers using fold-a-way seating.
