Specifications include, but are not limited to: The District desires to initiate a negotiated contract for the adoption, delivery, implementation and professional training of a K-5 ELA instructional resource. The District reserves all its rights to enter into negotiations with one or more of the qualified vendors through this RFP process. The desired outcome for this adoption cycle is to provide up-to-date, research-based, relevant, and grade-level appropriate materials that will effectively support our Science of Reading teaching and learning practices for our kindergarten - fifth-grade English Language Arts classrooms and will offer all teachers and students greater access to relevant digital and print resources, texts and manipulative tools. The ELA resource we would like to implement must offer both print and electronic media to serve both students/families with and without technology at home. The resource should encourage interaction between students, collaboration and discussion as well as instruction that follows learning progressions related to the Science of Reading “Progression of Word Study” outlined below; Basic Phonological Awareness in grades kindergarten through first Phoneme-Grapheme Correspondence in grades kindergarten through second Building Sight Word Recognition in first through second grade Develop Fluent Recognition of Word Families in first through second grade Develop Inflectional Morphology in first through third grade Advanced Phonemic Awareness in second through third grade Identify and Utilize Common Syllables and Syllabifications in second through fourth grade Current student enrollment estimates (these number may changed based on enrollment at the point of final negotiations)
