St. Charles County Facilities Department is looking to install new stainless-steel toilets and sinks in the Juvenile Detention Center. The current fixtures are porcelain. There are a total of seventeen (17) toilets and seventeen (17) sinks that need replacing. Because the fixtures are within detention, a site visit must be coordinated to ensure the appropriate material is quoted. Scope: Stainless-steel toilets to be Metcraft model R4610-FV-5.5-0001, or equivalent. See Exhibit B for specifications. Stainless-steel sinks to be Acorn Penal-Ware 1657 series 18” multi-sided lavatory with oval bowl, or equivalent. See Exhibit B for specifications. All costs should include the following: 1. Demolition, removal, and offsite disposal of existing porcelain fixtures. 2. Adjustments of existing rough-ins to allow for installation of new fixtures. 3. Any finish work necessary to conceal or close any gaps or penetrations created from removal of previous porcelain toilets, or that were required to install new units. This includes any wall, ceiling, or floor repair. Finish work includes any painting or surface repair to match original paint or surface. 4. Any concealing or closing of gaps or penetrations shall be repaired with pickproof adhesive sealant – SUREBOND – SB-190 EVERSEAL or approved equivalent. 5. Any additional work necessary for the new units to be installed, such as plumbing, electrical, support/bracing, backing, or any other modification that is required to properly install each unit. 6. Shipping, delivery, installation, and testing of the new units will be included. Contractor is responsible for cleaning up and removing all debris resulting from the work. Leaving the area ready to be occupied. Contractor is responsible for providing dumpster for removal of all trash and debris associated with this work. Dumpster location must be coordinated and approved by the County. Contractor will not be permitted to leave any items unattended in the detention area while work is performed and must clear all tools, material, debris, or other items each day the work is ongoing to adhere to security restrictions. Contractor will be secured within the area of work to provide separation between juveniles and the work location. At no time will the contractor, or its staff interact with the juveniles. If the contractor opts to select a different fixture manufacturer other than the fixtures specified, it must meet the same standards and specifications as stated in Exhibit B. The contractor must submit the specification sheets of any different fixture product with their bid submittal. This will be reviewed by the County to verify the fixture is acceptable. If the alternate fixture(s) is/are deemed to be unacceptable, the County will consider the next lowest bidder’s submittal. If the alternate fixture(s) is/are approved for use, the Contractor will be responsible for the costs to make any necessary adjustments or modifications to the fixtures or site conditions to complete the job as necessary.
