The proposed work, hereinafter called the work, includes: The Jackson Street Sidewalk Improvements Project involves the construction of new pedestrian infrastructure along Jackson Street, extending from Station 10+08.00 to Station 18+70.00. The project includes the following major work items and responsibilities: · Demolition and removals necessary to accommodate the new improvements. This includes the removal of existing sidewalks, pavement, curbs, driveways, signs, mailboxes, pipes, and headwalls as shown in the plans. Saw cutting, debris removal, and proper disposal in accordance with local regulations are included in this work. The contractor is responsible for coordinating with utility providers as needed during removals. · Construction of new sidewalk infrastructure along the east side of Jackson Street, consisting primarily of 6-foot-wide concrete sidewalk. Most sections will be constructed using 4-inch thick concrete over a 4-inch compacted aggregate base, with the base extended 6 inches beyond the sidewalk edges. In driveways and high-load areas, 8-inch thick concrete will be used. · Driveway and intersection improvements, including construction of ADA-compliant driveway aprons and transitions at intersecting streets and private entrances. Some driveways will include integrally formed curb or decorative/stamped concrete finishes as shown in the plans. All work will conform to ADA standards, with cross slopes not exceeding 2%.
