Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Maximo product is used by MSD for Asset (including Vehicles) Management, Inventory Management, Customer Service and Purchasing. Asset Management includes scheduling preventative maintenance, performing corrective maintenance, responding to emergency work, tracking work orders, reporting fuels and mileage use for vehicle assets. Inventory Management includes reserving parts, requesting parts, counting parts, receiving parts, and issuing parts. Purchasing includes ordering parts, ordering services, ordering materials, managing contracts, and monitoring supplier performance. There is an industry specific module of Maximo for Transportation that MSD purchased and continues to use. MSD introduced Maximo for use in our treatment plant facilities with licensing purchased from MRO Corporation. MRO sold the product to IBM. In 2009, MSD upgraded from v.4x to v7.1. Subsequent upgrades in 2013 (v7.5) and 2019 (v7.6.1) result in our current version. The implementation of Maximo in 2011 expanded MSD’s use to include the Collection System assets geographically dispersed across our district. This required the consolidation of former site-specific instances at plants to an enterprise level, integration with our Oracle financial system through the adapter, the addition of the Utilities add-on for crew management and integration with our enterprise GIS through the use of the Spatial add-on. MSD has also purchased licenses for Maximo Scheduler (29). Neither Scheduler nor Anywhere have been deployed in a production environment to date. A few years later, MSD purchased the Transportation add-on (39) and expanded implementation of the product to our Garage staff.
