The Project includes the addition of glass around the lower-level stair enclosure to lessen the sound transmission from the lower level play area to the upper level reading area. It also includes the replacement of the carpet and rubber tiles in the lower level which are directly adjacent to the stairs, as well as new rubber treads to cover the existing concrete stairs. The following Scope of Work provides an overview of the terms and conditions being sought by the Library District for the Project: 1. Provide all materials, labor, tools, and equipment to construct and install a new Stair Enclosure at the lower level of the Daniel Boone Branch library in accordance with the attached documents: a. Daniel Boone Branch – Request for Proposal Set included herein as Appendix A. 2. Haul off and dispose off-site all removed material. 3. Selected responder will be responsible for all permits and coordination of inspections for the project. 4. Work shall be performed with standard care and in a professional, workmanlike manner. 5. Library will remain open during construction. Responder is responsible for temporary barricades, etc. to secure area from staff and patrons and to keep dust and debris from other library areas. 6. Assume Monday-Friday work hours. Work can begin as early as 6:30 AM daily. 7. Maintain a clean and safe workplace at all times. 8. All work should be coordinated with the Library’s Manager of Building Systems and/or the Facility Specialist. 9. Contractor shall submit shop drawings for approval prior to fabrication. 10. Contractor is responsible for all field measurements and the quality of the final fit. 11. A post-selection coordination meeting will be held to discuss schedule and sequencing. 12. Any subcontracting must be clearly noted in the response to the IFB. All insurance, safety training, and certifications required of the bidder are also required of any subcontractor. 13. The Library is a tax-exempt organization. A tax certificate will be provided to the selected Bidder. 14. For reference, a sample contract is included as Exhibit A. This is the form the successful bidder will be asked to execute.
