Specifications include, but are not limited to: Since its incorporation in 1985, the City of Maryland Heights has attempted to secure thedevelopment of what is commonly referred to as the "HBE Tract", a vacant parcel of approximately34.5 acres at the northwest quadrant of the Page Avenue/I-270 interchange. In August 1997, theCity Council approved a Redevelopment Plan for this area, designed to accommodate a mixed-usedevelopment of hotel, offices and related uses and support infrastructure. In September 1997, thePlanning Commission recommended the rezoning of the HBE Tract to Planned District. With the transition of ownership and renewed market interest in this area, the Council is expected toauthorize the funding of a planning study to determine the feasibility of the current RedevelopmentPlan and examine land use alternatives for the HBE Tract and adjacent lands. The anticipatedfunding for the planning study is $75,000.
