The BioFire Torch instrument, is a multiplexing polymerase chain reaction platform capable of testing for multiple organisms, including multiple infectious disease-causing agents in under an hour using various panels ranging from respiratory to gastrointestinal. These instruments provide rapid, efficient, and sensitive detection of nucleic acid (DNA) from clinical samples, which allows for timely identification of the presence of infectious agents and hastens treatment. bioMerieux, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the BioFire FilmArray Torch System and reagents.
