Specifications include, but are not limited to: This RFP is issued for the purpose of soliciting competitive proposals from qualified vendors that can deliver full-time educational services and behavioral supports and interventions in compliance with IDEA to special education students, and comprehensive Missouri and District Standards to general education students, who require intensive behavioral and emotional support programs, in an Alternative Instructional Setting (AIS). The goal of this initiative is to provide students with the positive behavioral and emotional supports and interventions they need, while in a temporary AIS placement, so that problematic behaviors are replaced with appropriate behaviors, and so that students learn the coping mechanisms, behaviors and skills they need in order to receive educational services in a less restrictive environment, return to their neighborhood District school, and fully participate in the general education setting. This will be demonstrated through increased student attendance, reduction in suspensions, reduction in targeted behaviors and increase in appropriate behaviors, and returning to the neighborhood school within specified timelines.
