Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Vehicle Type: In order to meet stability and sensor deployment goals, the USV should be a catamaran with a central gantry-type system. It must have the following capabilities: a. Modular b. Articulated, inflatable pontoon hulls c. A payload area of sufficient size to mount survey hardware and a small electric winch. Responses should include options for compatible winch systems capable of raising/lowering an optics package weighing up to 100 pounds. d. Be capable of both direct operation via radio control and pre-planned automated operations, including the ability to plan missions independent of the vehicle, and then upload them into the vehicle's controller. e. Override function and failsafe in the event of loss of communication and/or low battery. f. Dual electric propulsion. g. Maintain safe operation in moderate sea conditions (typical in coastal marine environments).
