1. Unit must be capable of heating water with steam OR electricity at any time. Mandatory; 1.1. Building steam supply to be phased out in upcoming years. 1.1.1. Cage washer expected to be in service for 10-15 years. 1.2. Building steam supply has experienced pressure drops and failure in the past. 2. Equipment Dimensions and Placement as follows: 2.1. Both doors must be at the same level as the floor in the room. Mandatory; 2.2. No ramps on entry or exit side of unit (safety concern for operators); 2.3. Must fit in existing pit. Mandatory; 2.3.1. Existing pit is 93 inches long, 86 inches wide, 9.5 inches deep (replacing Steris Basil 4700 rack washer for reference); 3. Chemical pumps to be supplied by vendor; 4. All final connections to be made by vendor or vendor’s sub-contractor; 5. Unit to be structurally capable of supporting and processing two (2) Carter II, one (1) over one (1) primate cages, simultaneously. 6. Spare parts package to be included with purchase; 7. One (1) year of service and support, to include preventive maintenance visits and related parts, to be included. 8. All steam, condensate, and water supply lines to be insulated from building shut offs to machine connection points. 9. All HVAC ductwork to be insulated; 10. Any wash/pan racks specific to unit to be called out and pricing provided for consideration; 11. Connections for cleaning/flushing Edstrom watering systems to be available in unit.
