The vendor must offer comprehensive medical waste disposal services with the following specifications: Types of Waste: Biohazardous waste Sharps waste (needles, scalpel blades, etc.) Chemotherapeutic waste Pharmaceutical waste Pathological waste (human and animal tissue) Standards and Regulations: Compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for Bloodborne Pathogens Complying with Mississippi state regulations governing medical waste management Following the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines Logging and Tracking: Provide tracking and manifests for all medical waste pickups and disposal Maintain accurate logs of waste generation and disposal for compliance audits Service Requirements The vendor must meet the following service requirements: Scheduled Pickups: Provide a regular schedule for waste pickups (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as necessary), agreed upon at the time of contract initiation. A call can be made to vendor if not scheduled. Emergency pickups shall be available within 24 hours of request. Transportation: Use vehicles specifically designed for the transportation of medical waste. Adhere to all safety and handling procedures during the transportation process.
