The purpose of this project is to construct a new, stand alone, pre-engineered steel building to serve as a volunteer fire station. The project includes all necessary site work, foundation, building erection, and utility installation for a complete and operational facility located at 2231 Moor High Rd., Crawford MS 39743. The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all materials, equipment, and labor necessary for the turnkey construction of a 50' wide by 40' long pre-engineered steel fire station. A. General Requirements The contractor shall be licensed, bonded, and provide proof of insurance. The building system shall be manufactured by an AISC certified manufacturer (classification MB). The contractor shall comply with all applicable legal and safety requirements and be responsible for any temporary bracing required for stability during the erection process. B. Site Work and Foundation Perform final grading for the building pad and driveway. Treat the area around and under the slab for termites. Construct a monolithic concrete slab foundation for a 50'x40' building: o Minimum 4,500 psi concrete, 8 inches thick. o 12"x20" perimeter footing with piers as required for column loading. o Reinforcement with #4 bars on 12" centers and saw-cut control joints. o A 6 mil Vis queen vapor barrier shall cover the entire foundation area. Construct a concrete apron and sidewalk as detailed in the attached layout drawing. o Minimum 3,500 psi concrete, 8 inches thick, with steel rebar on 24" centers. o Broom finish with saw-cut control joints.
