: Develop a Strategic Process that will ensure growth and quality in the charter sector. The Independent Contractor shall perform and render these professional services in compliance with Board direction, its laws, rules and regulations as well as the terms and conditions detailed in the contract. Utilizing the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board’s Priorities and Objectives of its Strategic Plan, the Independent Contractor shall: • Assess the proposed vision to ensure alignment with the Mission of MCSAB • Assess MCSAB value statements and work with Board members and Staff to o Determine how value statements should show up in Board Governance o Determine how value statements should show up in the day to day operations of MCSAB • Assess each of MCSAB’s strategic priorities o Work with Board members and Staff to determine if priorities and objectives should be revised and if so develop new or revised priorities and/or objectives – board goals should be kept at the board level and measured on an agreed upon basis • Utilizing a values based authorizing approach, the contractor will facilitate an opportunity or opportunities for the board to come together on a single definition of “high-quality charter school” to ensure that they are meeting the needs of families. o The definition of high-quality should include board and staff consensus on how high-quality is measured and applied equitably to charter schools and charter school governing boards. o Charter contract terms regarding the Annual Performance Framework should be considered when defining high-quality. oThe definition of high-quality should include board and staff consensuson how high-quality is measured and applied equitably to charter schools and charter school governing boards. oCharter contract terms regarding the Annual Performance Framework should be considered when defining high-quality
