Specifications include, but are not limited to: Task 1 – Project Management and Coordination 1.1 Perform general project management activities throughout the term of the contract, Task 2a: Plan Development – Technology Maturity Assessment 2a.1 Review Section 5311 5-year Transit System Plans to assess identified needs and desires for future technologies. 2a.2 Conduct follow-up phone/in-person interviews and/or survey to determine if progress has already been made toward technology improvements identified in Plans and clarify basis for identified technologies. Tabulate results. 2a.3 Produce technical memorandum outlining findings and a (filterable) database of findings. Utilize technical memorandum in development of draft and final Plan. Task 2b: Plan Development –Technology Trends and Opportunities 2b.1 Research current and foreseeable future technology trends to: - Identify opportunities in transit that have or will change the way transit systems provide service. - Review and analyze how future trends will impact, change, or expand the way transit service is provided – transit operations. - Identify opportunities in transit that have or will improve customer experience. - Identify opportunities in transit that have or will impact how transit systems communicate, provide information on systemto-system ridesharing availability, fare revenue collection, ride verification, and data collection. - Produce technical memorandum outlining current and foreseeable future technology trends and opportunity findings. Utilize the Technical memorandum outlining the findings as an input to help develop the vision, goals and objectives and in the development of draft and final Plan. Task 2c: Plan Development – Industry Peer Review 2c.1 Research and review other comparable rural public transit systems (i.e. peer review) nationwide to determine current, typical technology use. 2c.2 Identify the viability of technology use by organization size and identify any technologies used by transit systems that appear to be an integral part of their business success. 2c.3 Research how other states are approaching, prioritizing, and investing in public transit system technology. 2c.4 Produce a technical memorandum summarizing the findings. Utilize technical memorandum in development of draft and final Plan.
