b. Utilities The utilities will need to be removed to complete the tunnel refurbishment. This will include steam – 125 psig lines, High Pressure Condensate, Low Pressure Condensate, electric for tunnel service, and communications.
i. At this time, assuming the work is completed during the 2019 summer, steam to Pillsbury, the Armory and Field House can be secured for the duration of the project. If this proves to not be true, then the plan will be to provide steam to the Armory and Field House using temporary low pressure boilers, provided by Steam Utilities.
ii. The tunnel electric service will also need to be provided during the field work.
i. The options for how to address the existing tunnel are to be evaluated in terms of overall life cycle cost. These options include:
1. Replacement of the tunnel
2. Refurbishment of the tunnel
3. Removal of the tunnel and install either buried or a coffin-box style distribution
ii. The tunnel length in scope will start at the junction to the pedestrian tunnel on the west side of Pillsbury to the junction to the new tunnel section near Church St. The final tunnel length refurbished will be dependent on cost/available resources and available field work time to complete the work in conjunction with the Pillsbury Hall project.
