Specifications include, but are not limited to: Conduct up to 10 training sessions for City of Minneapolis staff on secondary/vicarious trauma ranging from 60‐90 minutes in length. The purpose of the training is to provide staff with information on secondary trauma. Sessions should be structured to include experiential learning and include definition and symptoms of secondary trauma as well as self‐care and stress management techniques. Each session should cover the same material. Examples of scenarios faced by participants where skills are desired include: De‐escalating tense interactions with constituents in public as well as within the office environment Stress from being called upon for immediate solutions to complex constituent problems, particularly in public settings Difficulty in knowing when to disengage with agitated constituents, particularly no acceptable solution is forthcoming
