Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1 Contractor shall lease to the County fire extinguishers in number and type to ensure that County sites are fully compliant with all applicable codes and regulations. All leased devices shall be NFPA compliant and UL listed. For bidding purposes, the fire extinguisher counts (owned and leased) by building, size and type have been included in Attachment A. Hennepin County recently conducted an inventory and compared it with the current vendor’s; there may; however, be some variation in actual quantities, Contractor shall consider the quantities provided as estimated quantities when bidding. 1.2 Contractor shall be a fire extinguisher dealer, capable of supplying new fire extinguishers to the County for leasing. 1.3 Training. On an as requested basis, Contractor will provide on-site fire extinguisher training for Hennepin County employees at a Hennepin County site, which shall include but may not be limited to: • Material identification, types of combustibles (class A, B, C and so on) and the corresponding extinguishing agents • Extinguisher operation and technique • Hands on use of extinguisher to put out a class A or B material fire Any leased extinguishers discharged during training will be replaced with a fully operational unit the same day. The County will reimburse the Contractor for recharging leased units used to conduct training per the rates provided on the bid documents. 1.4 Inspections and Maintenance. The Contractor shall perform annual inspections on all leased units to ensure optimum functionality and on-going code compliance. Any additional inspections required per NFPA 10 (5, 6 and 12 year, etc.) or other applicable regulations shall be tracked, scheduled, recorded and performed by the Contractor as part of the lease fee.
