Specifications include, but are not limited to: Work will vary by site and may include full-depth sawing of pavement (including curb and gutter); pavement, structure and pipe removals; construction of catch basins and/or manholes; pipe replacement (including water stops and/or stainless steel adjustable coupler); soil/aggregate backfilling; pavement restoration; placement of 3” of top soil behind effected curb; and placement of grass seed and stabilized erosion straw blankets at effected boulevards. All mudwork and adjusting rings shall be considered part of the structure price. Castings will be provided by the City of Minneapolis. The selected bidder shall be responsible for picking up castings from the Hiawatha Maintenance Yard (1901 E. 26th Street). Backfilling shall be restored to a rough grade that allows pavement and a minimum 4” of Class 5 aggregate placement. Pavement and Class 5 will be restored by the bidder with a 2” bituminous or concrete cap unless otherwise directed by the City of Minneapolis Contract Administrator or his representative. All pipe and structures removed shall be disposed of by the selected bidder. Casting shall be set by the selected bidder to the original line and grade within a -0.5” tolerance. Selected bidder shall maintain erosion control around all spoils piles and shall cleanup worksites within 1 week of site completion. Grass seed shall be provided by the City of Minneapolis; however, the erosion straw blankets to be used for permanent soil stabilization shall be provided by and installed by the selected bidder within 7 days of all pavement and backfilling operations being completed.
