Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Remove existing shingles and flashings. Remove wet, damaged, or deteriorated plywood decking. Include 5 squares of plywood deck replacement in the Base Bid. Salvage existing insulation below the deck. 2. Replace existing roof-related wood blocking slated for reuse if it contains more than 19 percent moisture, shows evidence of rotting, or is otherwise in a condition that provides an unsuitable substrate to receive new materials. Include 1,000 board feet of wood blocking replacement per building in the bid. 3. Exercise precautions to prevent damage to the membranes during construction (removal of existing and installation of new materials). Provide protection and a watertight and windresistant membrane condition at the end of each day’s work and before the start of any form of precipitation. 4. Install self-adhering underlayment over the plywood deck followed by one-ply asphalt felt underlayment. 5. Install new asphalt shingles and flashings as shown on the Drawings. 6. Install new gutter, downspouts and splashblocks.
