A. The contract work scope descriptions are constructed to follow as close as possible the CSI format of the contract documents. However, contract work scope descriptions may contain work described in more than one specification section and/or parts thereof. B. Local custom and trade-union jurisdictional settlements do not control the scope of work included in each Prime Contract. When a potential jurisdictional dispute or similar interruption of construction activities is first identified or threatened, the affected Contracts shall promptly negotiate a reasonable settlement to avoid or minimize the pending interruption and its delays. C. Each contract work scope includes all provisions of Division 00 and Division 01 Specifications. D. Unless noted otherwise, each contract work scope shall include the complete labor and materials, equipment, applicable permits and applicable taxes required for the performance of the described work in accordance with the plans and specifications. E. During the bidding period, it is the responsibility of the Bidders to notify the Construction Manager of any discrepancies in the bid documents and/or work scopes. In the event that a clarification is not provided, the Bidder shall provide the greater value, specification and/or quality and include the costs in their bid. F. This project is prevailing wage. Reference Specification Section 00 7343 – Wage Determination for requirements and Sherburne County Wage Rates. G. Bidders are to include taxes (sales and/or use) in their bids unless it is specifically excluded by the work scope. H. The project will operate on a 5-day, 40-hour week basis. Work hours will be 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday thru Friday. Any deviation from the work days and hours shall be coordinated and approved by the Construction Manager. Bidders shall include costs to work outside of the work days and hours. These costs to include, but not limited to, overtime charges for AP personnel. I. Prior to a vendor entering the secure portion of the facility, staff will perform a documented inventory of all the vendor’s tools and material utilizing a Vendor Inventory Checklist. Staff will use the same form to perform another documented inventory of the tools prior to the vendor leaving the building. Tools may be left inside secure perimeter if locked in a job box. Storage of materials to be coordinated with jail personnel. J. Bidders shall be aware that the Sherburne County Jail is an existing facility that will be fully operational during construction of building addition and remodeling. K. Contractors working on the project will be required to have background checks performed by Sherburne County at no cost. No workers will be allowed to work on the project that do not pass the background check. L. Contractor is responsible for unloading and accepting the material. Each contractor is required to have their own equipment for deliveries and doing their work. Jail and County employees will not accept any deliveries. M. Contractor parking shall be coordinated by the Construction Manager. All vehicles shall have the windows, doors and/or trunks locked when parked at the project site. N. Construction equipment shall be inventoried and accounted for at all times. Construction equipment not in use shall be properly secured and stored. O. Extension cords shall be rolled up when not in use and inspected weekly. Prime Contractors shall not allow extension cords to obstruct walkways or working areas. P. Blocking, Backing and Grounds: Each Contractor to be responsible for providing the blocking, backing and grounds in all walls and above ceilings necessary for the installation of his work.
