Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Serve as the Special Education Director and provide Special Education services for students enrolled at Perpich Arts High School to students for School Year 2017-2018 • Aid in sourcing other necessary special education services including, but not limited to: school psychologist, assessment coordinator, audiologist and other special education services as needed • Represent Perpich Arts High School and be fully accountable for all activities relating to Special Education services including (not limited to) due process procedure/policy, training to address program needs, guidance referral on special licensing • Supply information, guidance and/or support for o Response to letters of complaint or potential formal complaints o Creation of corrective action plans o Conduct of complex problematic meetings for planning, including development of the individual Education Plan (IEP) and three year evaluations o Implementation of mandated reporting requirements o State of Minnesota special education aid and Federal special education funds o State of Minnesota required special education reporting o Acquisition of special education software o Education policy and procedural information and training for teaching staff o Advisement and supervision of the special education teacher in student transitions and location(s) of services o Completing state application process o Oversight of Due Process and Fiscal Monitoring activities conducted by Minnesota Department of Education o Collaboration with school administrators in performance evaluation of the special education teacher o Mentoring of the special education teacher o Oversight of the special education teacher in completion of IEP, evaluation and progress reports o Maintain effective communication with the Schools Principals, Directors, Special Education Coordinator, Special Education Teacher and ISES
