Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall provide snow removal and ice management on all paved and/or concrete areas (parking lots, entry/exit ramps, parking ramp, handicapped ramps, sidewalks, book return drop boxes on sidewalks or drives, etc.) during snow event to permit access and movement of staff and patrons in accordance with the snow thresholds. Contractor may be required to provide snow removal and ice management activities more than once within a given twenty four (24) hour period, and may be called by the FOM to perform special cleanup during normal business hours based on snowfall accumulations. Contractor IS REQUIRED to perform snow plowing activities before 6:00 AM during off hours. Contractor will be required to use various means of snow removal and ice management, and shall use best practices in performing contract requirements, particularly in restricted areas. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to provide clear paths of travel to ensure that there will not be any hazardous/life safety condition. Contractor shall commence with snow and ice removal automatically upon accumulation at the 1" mark during business hours, unless otherwise defined as a trace. Contractor may be called on to do additional salting or de-icing of parking lot and sidewalk areas as a result of slippery/unsafe conditions. Requests for such services shall be completed within two (2) hours of the request. All additional salting shall be done at the unit price submitted on the Bid Proposal.
