2.1.1. 24/7 Snow Removal and Ice Control (Estimated to Start Around October 1 – April 30): 2.1.1.1. Perform snow plowing, sidewalk clearing, salting, and snow hauling across designated Minnesota National Guard sites. 2.1.1.2. Clear snow from all designated areas including parking lots, roads, driveways, sidewalks (where specified), fire lanes, hydrants, and entrances. 2.1.2. Monitoring and Initiation of Services: 2.1.2.1. Monitor snowfall events and automatically initiate services when accumulation thresholds are met (2" or 5"). 2.1.2.2. Provide On Demand and Will Call services as requested by the State, within required response time (typically within 6 hours). 2.1.3. Pre-Season Activities: 2.1.3.1. Participate in site walkthroughs to identify hazards, define snow pile areas, and confirm access points. 2.1.4. Communication and Coordination: 2.1.4.1. Maintain 24/7 contact availability during the contract season. 2.1.4.2. Coordinate plowing and service methods with Regional Building Maintenance Supervisors. 2.1.5. Salt Application: 2.1.5.1. Apply approved de-icing materials following environmental and temperature guidelines. 2.1.5.2. Clean up excessive or spilled salt immediately. 2.1.5.3. Follow MPCA best practices and submit required Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
