Specifications include, but are not limited to: Spread ice melt compound as icy or slippery conditions develop and as needed for safety. The contractor is to supply the ice melt compound and storage barrels. b. Use a reasonable amount of ice melt compound rather than excessive amounts. c. Facilities Management Representatives may also request additional work. d. Use ice melt compound on walks, ramps and steps and other areas used solely by pedestrians. e. Contractor will provide all equipment necessary for the uniform dispersal of ice melt compound within the unit price dollar amount proposed. f. Use an ice melt spreader that will drop a uniform amount, no hand spreading. g. Walkways will be lightly treated after each shoveling/snow removal.
