The work covered under this solicitation shall consist of the labor, equipment, materials, tools, transportation, and incidentals necessary to: Label, picture, remove, and clean all 52 granite steps, remove and dispose of landing bituminous, perform groundwork and tree stump removal, and reinstall the steps back in exact location all leveled evenly and rise equally as close as possible. Landings should use class II crushed granite that is packed. It also includes the legal offsite disposal of any/all demolition and construction debris. The stairway is located leading up from the beach to the Cedar Hill Picnic Shelter at Sibley State Park. Demolition and Installation: • Carefully remove and dispose of bituminous landings, ensuring minimal disturbance to the surrounding area. • Label each of the 52 steps to identify existing placement and move to temporary staging area and clean. • Remove and dispose of two identified tree stumps causing disturbance to stairway. • Furnish and install class 2 crushed granite where landings are required. • Reinstall the steps in exact location from where they were removed and cleaned. Ensure steps are level. • Furnish and install class 5 material as needed to ensure steps are level and the rise of the steps is as close to 6 inches as possible. This may not be possible with the size of the cut granite step. • Replace mortar where necessary. • Implement measures to protect the surrounding environment, including trees, plants, and other natural features, during the construction process. • Utilize barriers and signage to ensure the safety of park visitors and workers. • Conduct thorough inspections during and after installation to verify the proper alignment, levelness, and stability of the granite steps. • Address any discrepancies or issues promptly to maintain the quality of work. Close Out: • Thoroughly clean up the jobsite. • Legally dispose of all construction debris. • Complete any/all items on the substantial completion punch list. Material/Products: • Class V as required for fill • Class II as required for landings
