Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contracted Artists or Artist lead teams will meet with city staff to gain an overview of the project areas and help identify specific locations on city land for the artwork. They will then develop their concept into a series of deliverables to be presented for approval by the city. The artwork must be appropriate for outdoor installation, able to withstand severe weather, public contact, and be adequately and safely displayed and secured for a minimum of 15 years. 1. The Artist shall be responsible for the following design deliverables: • Complete Public Artwork Statement describing design intention; relationship to project goals and criteria; and description of Public Artwork materials, dimensions, weight, and finish. • Model and/or dimensioned drawings to scale showing some indication of color and materials and relationship of the Public Artwork to the surrounding landscape. • Cost estimate to fabricate and install each art piece and ongoing operations and maintenance that will be required. • Complete Timeline and Estimated Budget. • Conservation Analysis of proposed materials and construction methods by a certified conservator. • Recommendations regarding site preparation and activation, including but not limited to appropriate lighting, electrical and mechanical systems connections, and the structural support necessary for the Public Artwork. 2. The design process for each project shall include the following: • Participate in meetings with City staff, City Artist in Residence, and community. • Use input from these meetings to develop design ideas. • Work with the project areas design team to integrate artwork into the site. • Present design proposal for review by an evaluation committee that will include Representatives from Public Works, Parks and Recreation Department, The City Artist and community representatives.
