RFP Objective 1: The Applicant is asked to propose a lot that they currently grow food on or want to grow food on. The City will provide funding to City of Lakes Community Land Trust for the purchase of the selected lot(s). The lot(s) will be purchased by the City of Lakes Community Land Trust (CLCLT) who will enter into a long-term lease agreement with the Applicant. This lease will provide long-term land security and ensure the lot will remain in long-term urban agricultural use. The lease fee will be negotiated after the successful Applicant(s) is notified. The lease fee will cover the property tax and CLCLT’s cost for liability insurance for the lot. RFP Objective 2: The selected Applicant(s) may receive a contract for urban farm and community garden implementation and/or operations. Contingent upon available funding, Applicant(s) may receive up to $25,000 per contract year for costs related to infrastructure and operations. Fund availability is dependent on the City’s budget process. The budget is typically passed in December.
