The University is requesting Lump Sum services for the Built-Up Roof and one (1) mechanical unit replacement on the Printing Services Building. The estimated total of ~75,000 sf roof and proposed unit has been listed as exceeding its max-life and consists of a high priority for replacement that would prevent the constant leaking into the building. This Project will be retained as a Lump Sum to provide the material and labor necessary for the following scope: • Replacement of the roof systems: Consists of a flat built-up roof sectioned A - G. All associated components as part of the roof replacement apply as detailed in the Construction Documents set. • Mechanical Unit Replacement: As specified and designed in the Construction Document set, one (1) RTU replacement to distribute tempered air throughout the building + system control. • The University has sampled particular areas relative to the scope and tested negative. The selected Respondent will need to provide trained personnel that are qualified in dealing with hazardous materials. Contractors, Subcontractors and/or suppliers shall perform the training as mandated by Federal, State, and Local regulations that are required for completion of the Work. Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requires training for construction workers in several areas including asbestos. If hazardous materials are discovered during removal operations, stop work and notify the University.
