Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scales proposed by the Vendor must meet the following specifications- 1.Have an operating temperature range of at least 0 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit 2.Be a mechanical scale and dial display. Scales requiring the use of batteries or other sources of power will not be accepted. 3.Be durable, constructed of corrosion resistant material such as aluminum or stainless steel. Paint or other coatings as a corrosion protection will not be accepted. 4.Watertight to at least IP65 as they will be used all year around and in all weather conditions. 5.Be capable of accurate weighing on uneven surfaces and on a grade or cross slope of at least 5 percent. 6.Function properly without the use of any type of ramps/mats or other additional equipment. The height of the weighing area may not be greater than 3/4” (0.75 inch). 7.Meet the requirements of NIST Handbook 44, all requirements of Minnesota Statutes and rules of the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Weights and Measures Division for use as a commercial scale. 8.Display weights between 0- 20,000 lbs. with 50 pound divisions. 9.The weight of the scale must not exceed 40 lbs. 10.Be protected from overweight damage from weights of at least 22,000 lbs. 11.Scales must have an active measuring surface area large enough to accommodate dual tires on large commercial vehicles. 12.Due to the dimensions of the scale racks already installed in the squad vehicles, the scales cannot be more than 3.5 inches in height, cannot be less or more than 38 inches deep, and between 15 and 16 inches wide.
