Specifications include, but are not limited to: The demolition of one freight elevator located in the PWB, also referred to as Building # 144. The existing elevator shaft built in 1977 is approximately 100 feet in height, and serves as an emergency exit for the below ground utility tunnel. As part of the Project, after the removal of the elevator, a permanent stair/ladder shall be built into the existing shaft, allowing for future emergency egress from the utility tunnel. Consideration for access control, construction staging, ventilation in existing shaft, potential for water infiltration, selection and type of permanent stairs or ladder, budget control, and timing for coordination with existing nearby project construction projects by others, shall be part of this proposal.
