he work under this specification will include troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and balancing of synchronous pump motors. Potential work items may include: 1. Rewinding of synchronous motors 2. Motor reconditioning and repair. 3. Complete diagnostic inspection, testing, and reporting 4. Bearing analysis 5. Electrical testing including, but not limited to: Insulation resistance, Polarization Index, DC Hi-pot, Winding resistance, and Surge Comparison testing 6. Perform single phase growler test of the induction rotor 7. Micrometer check and record all critical machined fits 8. Electro-plate bearing journal 9. Repair (flame-spray) bearing journal 10. Repair (chrome & grind) bearing journal 11. Bore and sleeve bearing housing 12. Furnish and install new shaft 13. Weld shaft extension and cut new keyway 14. Perform “as found” core loss and hotspot test 15. Perform ELCID test prior to and after burn-off 16. Collect stator winding data, burn-off and remove failed winding 17. Perform post burn-off core loss and hotspot test 18. Check and record clamping pressure 19. Verify core tightness (knife test)
