Specifications include, but are not limited to: The required design deliverables/tasks for this project include (all deliverables become city property): Note survey and staking work and potential real estate/ROW acquisition work will be administered using existing city staff/resources and existing contracts. Task 1: Project Management 1) Identify goals and needs. 2) Fulfill and submit all documentation necessary for procurement of federal funding, including any scope changes or STIP modifications. 3) Create project schedule, maintain updates, and inform team of floats and delays. 4) Weekly staff meetings to discuss design topics and to meet with subject matter experts. 5) Conduct monthly PMT meetings with external partners and stakeholders. 6) Secure any needed agreements between local, state, and federal agencies. Task 2: Preliminary Design 1) Assemble existing condition layout. Survey will be done with city forces, however a survey scope is necessary for supplemental field collection. 2) Obtain contract with environmental consultant to identify sensitive area, wetlands, endangered species habitat, and geotechnical exploration. 3) Produce tree inventory and preservation/management plan. 4) Conduct any needed parking surveys, traffic data collection, modeling and analysis, and light level analysis. 5) Preparation of alternative layouts and cross-sections examined. Task 3: Final Design 1) Final plan preparation includes but not limited to roadway, staging, lighting, tree planting, signing and pavement marking, signal revisions, and utility design. 2) Work with other agencies and city departments to address all design related issues and to complete any needed review. The city typically reviews plans at 30%, 60%, and 90% intervals. 3) Prepare specifications and special provisions. 4) Prepare engineer cost estimates with funding split and eligible quantities for state and federal funding sources. 5) Conduct constructability review and coordinate with maintenance staff on operations and maintenance procedures. 6) Conduct quality control and submittal of all required final checklists prior to approval. 7) Preparation of bid documents.
