Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), partnering with the Department of Health, intend to enter into an agreement of 1 year with Orchard Software for uninterrupted use of BioFire FilmArray Torch and Cephied Infinity Xpertise Software maintenance and support as a new purchase to support the laboratory information system (LIS) new Laboratory Instrument used by the Minnesota Department of Health Infectious Disease Laboratory, (IDL). IDL purchased a new instrument called the Hologic Panther to perform critical testing to identify infectious organisms from clinical samples. The new instrument needs to be interfaced to the LIS to maintain our results review and entry workflows, so that results can be quickly sent back to hospital labs to aide with patient care decisions and treatment and to MDH epidemiologists for public health surveillance.
