The Minnesota Department of Commerce intends to purchase an annual membership from the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA) for Calendar Year 2026. NASUCA is an association of 61 consumer advocates in 45 states and the District of Columbia, Barbados, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica. NASUCA's members are designated by the laws of their respective jurisdictions to represent the interests of utility consumers before state and federal regulators and in the courts. NASUCA is the only consumer advocate agency that covers telecom and energy, and membership will help the Minnesota Department of Commerce stay up to date with new and emerging issues, training, and the activities of other states. Membership assessment is based on a percentage of the member's annual appropriation or operating budget.
