MnDOT requests proposals for an updated and improvement to the existing Land Use Compatibility Manual and associated planning tools to reflect the changes in state statute, federal policy, and industry trends that have occurred since then. An improved manual will serve as a convenient and authoritative reference for local zoning authorities and planners to understand the principles of airport land use compatibility and applicable strategies to promote and maintain aviation safety. The audience of the manual are local officials of airport sponsors, consultants for public airports in Minnesota, and developers of land uses that have potential aviation impacts. The goal of this project is to create a land use compatibility manual to guide decision making for Minnesota’s public-use airports and provide an authoritative reference for non-airport stakeholders.
