Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. All prospective vendors must be located within a 10-mile radius of Minneapolis City Hall, in order to provide prompt service. B. Vendor must be licensed pursuant to City of Minneapolis code chapter 349. C. Vendor shall dispatch a tow truck as soon as possible and in no case, any more than within ½ hour, of receiving the call for all tows, flat tires, jump starts, pulling out stuck vehicles, and other requests. D. Vendor must be able to respond within the above time frame 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/yr. including during snow emergencies and spring/fall street sweeping. E. The City will provide a pre-determined quantity of squad car spare tires for the vendor to keep at their location. The vendor will replace flat and /or damaged squad tires at the squad’s location. When the provided inventory of good tires is down to one tire, the vendor shall return the flat tires to the City’s Royalston Maintenance Facility and exchange them for good tires. Each flat tire must be accompanied with a copy of the invoice for when and where the tire was replaced and include the officer’s signature and badge #, unit # and the squad #. There shall be no additional charge for the time needed to exchange the flat tires for good tires. F. Vehicles must be towed as per manufacturer’s recommendations in order to not cause any driveline damage. G. The vendor shall keep headlights, squad spotlights, and various other bulbs at their location and provide replacement of bulbs at their location as needed. This would primarily apply to Ford Utility Interceptors. H. All invoices must be fully itemized with service provided, name of person calling for tow, make and model, vehicle unit # and squad # if applicable.
