Specifications include, but are not limited to: The existing campground drive has safety concerns with tight curves and limited sight lines. Due to the current restraint, park visitors have issues with accommodating large RV’s into the campground. Improving the road alignment of the campground entrance was identified as a key factor to improve safety and circulation. Entry Road Improvement - Improved alignment: straightened to accommodate large camping (RV/motorhome units) - Road is widened: to better accommodate two-way traffic of modern size RV’s and fifth wheel trailers with maximum RV dimensions are width 102” length 45 ft; maximum trailer length 45 ft; maximum RV height 13.5’; maximum lengths for two/three combination 75/70 ft. (Three-vehicle combo must be a fifth-wheel trailer, maximum length 28 ft. + watercraft, ATV, motorcycle or snowmobile). - Pedestrian Access: Provide accessible widened shoulder on improved entrance road between city sidewalk along Johnny Cake Ridge Road and campground campus. Widened shoulder to accommodate multiuse. - Winter Use: Road is designed with winter use in mind regarding snow removal and snow storage. - Designed to meet City of Apple Valley stormwater requirements: Project will meet standards as required for projects that do not introduce additional impervious surface.
