Prairie restoration project on Lake Rebecca Easement. There are two Project Areas, Up Slope and Down Slope. There are also 7 areas that we will need biologs installed in order to prevent gullying/wash outs. The current vegetation in this prairie restoration area is a Dense Nesting Cover hayland. Species include red clover, alfalafa, smooth brome, orchard grass, and reed canary grass. In order to significantly reduce the competition with these species we will need to do intense site preparation. Also we are splitting the field into Up Slope and Down Slope area in order to keep at least half the field in refugia for Bobolinks during the nesting season. Up Slope project area is 15.49 acres Down Slope project area is 19.15 acres.
