Non-profit and for-profit organizations, neighborhood associations, faith-based organizations, business associations, multi-unit or commercial management organizations, Private and Charter schools in Minneapolis, and others are invited to submit a proposal for a grant funded innovative community-led waste diversion project. Project outcomes are to increase diversion of materials from the waste stream. This includes, but is not limited to, increasing: • Recycling of traditional materials (cans, bottles, containers and papers) or hard-to-recycle items • Composting of food scraps and compostable food-service items • Reuse or repurposing of materials for a secondary use All projects must include a waste reduction educational component. All projects must be able to measure diversion from the waste stream. Please review the RFP for details.
