Specifications include, but are not limited to:For the University's next network edge switch we are____________________ (Required)expecting a family of stackable switches that providePOE+ (802.11at) or better power and some ports ofNBase-T. Ideally the switches would come in ~24-port and~48-port models which would have field replaceablenetwork modules for uplinks and field replaceable powersupplies that provide redundancy via a power sharing bus.We are also looking for a small form-factor switch thatprovides 8-12 gigabit ports for those locations that do notwarrant a stackable solution. We are expecting a minimumof 2 x 10 Gbps from stacks and 2 x 1 Gbps for small formfactor switches for uplinks. We expect that stacks of size>1 will utilize multiple ports on a single module to providethe minimum uplink count. For the University's next network distribution switch we arelooking for a family of switches that provides SFP+ orbetter downlinks to edge devices and multi- SFP+, possible 40Gbs or 100Gbps, up to a core device. Ideally, the switches would have a ~12-port and ~24-port version with field replaceable module uplinks and power as described above. We are expecting a minimum of 2 x 10 Gbps or multi 40 Gbps uplinks per aggregator device. Other features and functionality that we are looking for include Quality of Service, automation and orchestration, role-based access control for the management of the switches, flow capabilities, switches that can be fully managed by IP version 6 and the newest switches that will have full software and hardware support for the next 10 years
