Specifications include, but are not limited to: Program development for animal resources will result in preliminary space block diagrams and adjacencies. Including analysis of related impacts, while addressing operational, research, and logistical requirements. Program Analysis Collect and review USDA Animal Welfare Act requirements and DHHS policies related to the care and use of laboratory animals, both internal to the University, as well as national/international guidelines and standards, and determine required compliance for research spaces Conduct interviews with University staff and faculty and site veterinarians regarding research requirements, as needed Consider the following identified program requirements as a baseline for program development: Animal housing, space for safe handling, animal care, and behavioral management Research space for equipment, testing spaces, space to develop/refine research equipment, and supplies storage
