The State is requesting per plow bids for providing all transportation, equipment, fuel, labor taxes, fees, and all else necessary for snowplowing driveways, parking areas, shop area, and office sidewalks (which may require hand shoveling) of the Two Harbors DNR office. The DNR makes no guarantee to the amount of work to be performed. General Information 1. No work shall commence on this agreement until contractor receives Notice to Proceed. 2. Prior to work commencing, the DNR project supervisor will meet with the contractor to review performance standards. 3. Operator must be experienced and capable of meeting DNR performance standards without frequent on-site supervision by the DNR. Contractor will provide referrals to operators experience if requested. 4. All work shall be completed to the satisfaction of the Department of Natural Resources project supervisor. 5. Work and performance not meeting specification and not to the satisfaction of the DNR project supervisor shall be just cause for the State to terminate contract. 6. Contractor must furnish all snowplowing equipment as well as all transportation, equipment, fuel, labor, tools, supplies, and all else necessary to complete work to specifications. 7. Contractor shall not subcontract any part of the work under this agreement. Snowplowing 1. Snow plowing will be done whenever the snowfall is 1 inch or greater. 2. Snow plowing must be plowed before 7:00 AM each morning during a snow event. 3. When snowfall is 1 inch or greater and DNR determines that plowing will not be necessary, the DNR will contact the contractor by 8:00 pm the night before. 4. It shall be the contractors’ responsibility to provide the DNR with a telephone number where contractor can be reached, and message can be left if not answered by contractor. By the DNR contacting the telephone number provided to cancel plowing for a snowfall, the DNR shall have no obligation if plowing is done. 5. Extra snow removal may be requested, for the per-time rate for plowing (push back snowbanks, etc.). 6. Contractor is responsible for cost to repair excessive damage to sod and grass. DNR project supervisor shall be final determination if damage is excessive. 7. Contractor is responsible for all cost to repair damage caused by contractor to road and parking surfaces, structures, power, and other utility lines and all other damaged.
