Treat the site with the contractor provided herbicide for the following invasive plants: • Amur Cork Tree, Phellodendron amurense • Scattered population with densities between 25-50% Using GPS, track and log treatment locations to provide the Project Supervisor upon completion: • Vendor must submit waypoints of all cork tree infestations treated in either shapefile or KML format to the project supervisor. • Vendor must submit a geo-referenced track of their spraying operation to the project supervisor. Treatment method: Treat all cork tree stems using either a basal bark or cut/stump treatment as outlined below. All herbicide products must be approved by the Project Supervisor prior to application. • Basal bark application: Use the basal bark treatment on stems less than 4 inches DBH. Apply Garlon 4 Ultra at 20% mixed with Milestone at 1% in bark oil at 79% in a manner that thoroughly wets the target trunk from the root collar up the stem at least 12 inches, but not to the point of runoff. • Cut stump application: Use the cut stump treatment on stems greater than 4 inches DBH. Apply Garlon 4 Ultra at 20% mixed with Milestone at 1% in bark oil at 79% to stumps as soon as possible after cutting (within 2 hours). Herbicide requirements: • Hand/wand herbicide application only. NO broadcast spraying with a boom allowed. • All herbicide application shall follow appropriate herbicide label directions. • Only licensed commercial pesticide applicators in the State of Minnesota will work with or apply chemicals. Contractors must complete Contractor Qualification Form within the event and include with their bid response. • The Contractor shall be responsible for any inappropriate application or spillage of chemicals used on this contract. • Public notification (i.e., posting of signs) of chemical application on site is required. See the attached sign example on page 22. • A completed pesticide application report must be sent to the Project Supervisor following the treatment. This must include all information listed on the form. See the attached Pesticide Application Report form on page 23. Vendor qualifications: • Current Minnesota Commercial Pesticide Applicators License • Ability to identify target invasive plant(s) at the targeted growth stage Equipment: • Chainsaw • Herbicide backpack sprayer • GPS tracking application, such as Avenza maps
