Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Natural Resources is seeking bids to count and grade up to approximately 3 million conifer seedlings and 700,000 hardwood seedlings over a ten to twenty-five working day period in mid-April to mid-May and in mid-October to mid- November. The Contractor shall remove all debris, containers, and scrap materials dispose of in a legal manner; prior to final inspection. The Minnesota DNR requires active steps to prevent or limit the introduction, establishment, and spread of invasive species during contracted work. The Contractor shall prevent invasive species from entering into or spreading within a project site by cleaning equipment prior to arriving at the project site. Accept responsibility for the care of the trees during lifting, counting, and grading: Ensure seedlings are counted with tops up and roots down Ensure seedlings are separated individually during counting and grading Ensure seedlings are faced on the conveyor belt in the appropriate direction for tying or root pruning Ensure seedlings are counted in correct bundle amounts (10’s or 25’s) Contractor shall promptly notify the Project Supervisor if dried, injured, or moldy seedlings are observed. The Project Supervisor may provide other special instructions.
